I was reading Larry Elders recent column and knew he made alot of sense.  But there was something else that was brought to mind after reading. Respect!  That is what it is all about.  Or the lack of it.
His examples of the left's disrespectful statements and attitude about and towards our president were to the point.   Such statements and the attitudes displayed are not only watch and listened to in this country but also by the world.  Which includes our enemies.  And we are at war.  It might be an undeclared war, but it is still a war.  

  The left has done little to support President Bush and done much to undermine and demonize him and his administration and policies.   All of it avidly watched with glee by our enemies.  Because they know with certainty that if the Democrats gain power they will win.  And they will do all they can to support that happening including playing to the left's tune.  

  When statements are made by those on the left that in power, that are Senators, Congressmen, and others that demonize, insult and are blatantly as bad as the statements made by President Chavez to the UN, then they play into our enemies hands.  They give aid and comfort to our enemies.  And they do this simply in an attempt to regain the political power that they lost.  They are willing to risk handing this country over to our enemies.  Risk the loss of life of men, women and children in our homeland.  Simply for power.  The power to dictate their leftist agenda to this country as they were doing for the 30 years prior to their loss of power. 

  We, as Americans cannot allow the Democrats to regain their power.  Not if we want to remain Americans, free and independent.  If the Democrats regain power we will eventually either become a conquered nation or simply a protectorate of the UN.   Or just a governed Islamic country.

Is this what we want? 

  Another step took place today on the slope to the destruction of western freedoms. A German playgroup canceled the performance of a scheduled play because of “security concerns” because one feature of the 40 year old play showed the severed head of Muhammad. In other words, they feared retaliation by Muslims for ANY perceived insult to Islam or Muhammad. Of course, no mention was made that the play also featured the severed head of Jesus and other notables. But then, the playgroup does not have to fear for their very lives for any “perceived insult” to Christianity. So it has begun and will continue as along as people in the west and in our own country continue to knuckle under to Islamic fascism in the name of “tolerance”. Just as newspapers in the US refused to publish certain cartoons out of “respect and tolerance”, so go many others in the west. Folks…once you start out on this slope it only gets worse.

So where does it end?  As stated by some of those sons of Islam, “when the wine is spilled and their heads severed”.  Or, adhere to the precepts of Islam or die.

Is this what we want in this country?

I find it interesting that those on the left are invading the commentary section of Townhall.com in greater and greater numbers seemingly not to have a dialog but simply to denigrate and call names.  Most of the posts that I have seen by leftists do little more than that.   And they expect to be able to post here for no other reason than that.  Yet let someone from the right attempt to post commentary on the many blogs and websites of those on the left and watch what happens.  Most times the posts of those on the right are not allowed, or are deleted after being posted by those running the website or blog. "No alternate viewpoints allowed" because they want to have rational discusions of their views without posts that "are meant to cause disruption" of their discussions. 

Yet they see nothing wrong in their attempts to disrupt discussions and commentary on Townhall.com.   The difference here is that they are allowed to post and to post whatever they want to say.  And I feel and thankfully those that run this site, that they have the right to post their "alternate" viewpoints, even if they are doing so merely to disrupt reasonable discussion.   That is one of the freedoms that we are defending in this war on terror.   But not the left.

To the left, like the Islamic facists, we should only have the freedom to agree with their views.  Alternate viewpoints not allowed.

I wonder at the blindness of those on the left.   And the stupidity of same.  When the Pope "insulted" Islam and Mohammad did we hear anything from the left demanding appologies from the islamic facists about the church burnings, the riots, the killing of nuns and other assorted and sundry acts of violence?  Nope!  The only thing heard was tirades against the Pope for insulting the Islamic religion. What is funny, is that the Pope's statement in no way was meant as an insult but the reaction to it by the followers of mohammad has only proved him to be correct.  Yet continued silence from the left on the islamic violence.  No surprises there!
 
We are in a war for survival of our very culture and way of life.  But it seems that the left only wishes to embrace Islam rather than our american way of life.   Enforcing multi-culturism is enforcing the embracing of any culture EXCEPT our own.  That is why they support the UN to the degree that they do.  The UN that laughed and applauded when Chavez called our president a "devil" and said the podium still smelled of "sulphur" 24 hours after our president had given a speech there.
I say kick the UN out.  But thats me.  No liberal am I. 

Actually, considering the Left's outrageous statements and actions since the start of this war, maybe we should start seeing charges of treason being placed against some of those on the Left.   I wont hold my breath though.   It wont happen, but it should.

Watching with interest the recent riots and attacks against christian churches by Muslims upset over a remark made by the Pope.  A remark that was not meant as an insult but was merely a quote of a passage 100's of years old.

How many statements and remarks blasting the Christian faith by Muslims have sparked riots, protests and attacks by Christians against muslims and their places of worship.  Yet Muslims, adherents of that religion of peace, have firebombed, shot and attacked churches simply because they took offense to part of a speech made by the Pope.  A speech that in no way was meant to insult Muslims. 

So it seems we, in the west or those of other faiths, are supposed to adher to the precepts of the muslim faith otherwise we face the wrath of these adherents of a religion of peace.  So just maybe that remark made by the Pope is actually showing to be true.

  Its curious how the liberal media constantly berate our president and our countrys foreign policies.  They blame our country for all that is wrong in the world it seems.  We have wronged those worshippers of Islam.  That is why they are angry.  That is why they are lobbing missles into Israel.  That is why we as have many other countrys suffered Islamic suicide attacks.  Worshippers of Islam who turn themselves into human bombs have struck many western nations or otherwise attched those same nations.  They have been WRONGED by US so its only natural that they attack us. 

  Ok, fine.   They have attacked us.  Islamic jahadists have blown up our plans, kidnapped and killed our citizens and soldiers.  Blown up and destroyed our buildings.  Waged war against us.  Yet how many christians do you see strapping bombs to themselves and blowing up arab buildings.  How many arab countrys must guard themselves from christian suicide bombers?  How many arab countries must place guards on their airlines to prevent christian hijackers from taking over their aircraft. 
I mean, havent we been attacked?  Havent we been insulted.  How many christian riots have you seen over anti-christian cartoons.  How many christian bombers have blown themselves up killing arabs just for arabs insulting the christian faith? 

  How come the liberal media believes those of the Islamic faith should be free from insult, free from hate directed towards them and should be "understood"?  Yet those of the Christian faith is not to be accorded the same?  Those of the christian faith, so feel the liberal media, can be attacled, insulted, their faith denigrated by both the media and those very same Islamic worshippers.  

I wonder just which religion is the religion of peace?  I would say its obvious.  

There is a myth predominate in our western society that spreads beyond race, creed, culture that women and basically mothers can do no wrong.  That women are careing, loving, tender creatures who would sooner die than harm their children.  And they can be.  But they are also part of humanity and as such can be cruel and yes, evil.  Such is the curse of being human.  Yet that is not the popular view of womanhood.  That is the view that comes from our hearts, not our minds.  It is a view that is held by conservative and liberal both, by feminists as well, though with other views on that position as well.  But all in all, the basic view of women is that they can do no wrong and are basically good and if they do wrong, they are redemable and if they do evil, they must be insane.  If it had been Andrea's husband who had chased their kids around the home, one by one, drowning them while they faught for their lives, asking their father what they did wrong, if it had been "him", he would have been condemed by all as evil with no question.  And he would have been held responsible.  As men are usually always found to be responsible for their actions.  Yes, the insanity plea has been used by men in the past and been found not guilty and likely will be used by men in the future.  But it is a rare man that is able to use that defense and win. 

  As such, if it had been Andrea's husband who killed their kids, he likely would have been facing the death penelty today and why his ex-wife has been found not guilty. The view that men are capable of evil while women are not.  And that view has been pressed home quite successfully by the feminists for the last 40 years. And this weeks verdict of Andrea Yates and the resulting commentary by many in the media and others that the decision was right and just.

I think she should be facing the death penalty.  She is evil and should pay for that evil.  Insane she might have been, but she should still be held responsible just as many men in the past have been held responsible for similar crimes.  Yet she has the chance of walking free sometime in the future.  Its too bad that she took all choice and future away from her children. 

I heard with horror of the bombings of the trains in Bombay.  These were just folks like myself.  Not soldiers or fighters or anyone of any importance.  Just folks!  Yet they became targets of the terrorists. Their country has joined the growing number of countries that have been targeted by the terrorists.   Islamists who target innocents.  The religion of peace or so says the left.  Actions speak louder than words.  How many charities sponsored by worshipers of Islam are feeding and housing the poor.  How many are involved in rescue operations in areas hit by natural disaster. The list goes on and on.  Yet do a search on Yahoo or Google with either "Islamic Charities" or "Christian Charities" as the search info and see what comes up.  While both provide many hits, what is contained in those hits are notable for their difference.  The "Islamic charities" search comes up with ties to terrorist sponsoring and money funneling to terrorist organizations.  Page after page after page.
Do a search with "Christian charities".  Many hits, all concerned with "feed the children" or other good works and none connected with terroris cells or money laundering or funneling money to terrorists.  So is Islam a religion of peace or not?  While I am sure that there are many worshipors of Islam who are not terrorists, jost what religion is claimed by those who ARE terrorists.

   For the last several months I have been writing letters to our representatives in the government regarding closing our borders, and with the exception of those in the House, most have sent from letter responses touting their view of  a putting through "comprehensive reform".  Even when I told them I was against any kind of comprehensive package that was what "they" wanted to pass.  Even with multiple polls showing the majority of people polled showing their support of closing our borders before any kind of comprehensive package reform, it seems our president and senators do not hear the people.  Either they do not hear us, or do not believe us or just have their own agenda.   And it doesn't matter it seems, if they are Republican or Democrat.  

  So why the disconnect from the mainstream of the country?  Big Business pressure? Trying to present themselves as being "compassionate"?  Or trying to tie down those future voters?
Or a combination of all of the above?

  Quite frankly I am sick of the "comprehensive" talk from the senate and the president.  The borders should be closed.  Especially our southern border.  A 2000 mile fence with all possible electronic surveillance backed up by our military.  That is the priority.  
 
  Once the border is closed then go after the employers of illegal aliens.  I would also recommend going after anyone who harbors illegal, anyone who rents a room or a house to an illegal, anyone who sells them a car.  There should also be NO WELFARE of any kind.  No schooling for the children of illegal, no free medical care unless its a life or limb emergency.  And biggest of all, no more anchor babies.  Citizenship should NOT BE automatic for children of illegal.  And no more bilingual requirements.  English as our official language.  No bilingual ballets.  No bilingual education. No more having every official document being printed in both Spanish and English.  No more bilingual telephone answering messages.  If you live in this country you learn English.  Plain and simple.

Close the borders, do all of the above and there will be no need to deport millions of illegal.  They would have no choice but to leave this country.  Those that wish to stay must leave and apply for entry.  NO AMNESTY OF ANY KIND, SHAPE OR FORM.  Once all of the above has been put in place and is working and effective, then and only then should a guest worker program be "discussed".   And our representatives had better start listening to the people of this country. 

  The recent protests and marches by illegal demanding their "rights" sickened and angered me.  And apparently many other Americans.  Which is why the liberal media has dropped most coverage or even mention of the protests.  What "rights" does someone who broke our laws to enter this country and is not a citizen have?  None that I am aware of other than the right to go to jail.  They have that "right".   If a citizen of this country breaks our laws they could expect to be prosecuted and likely go to jail.  But not, if our leaders have their way, not if you are an illegal alien.  Excuse me, illegal "immigrant".  

  Our leaders also want to allow illegal to receive social security payments as well as disability payments even if they worked illegally and used a fake or stolen social security number.  They break the law and are given the benefits as if what they did was no crime.  Let a citizen do the same and see what happens.  

  I don't know what will make our leaders finally listen to the people of this country.  Maybe cleaning house completely by voting in someone that is from neither major party.   Maybe an "American" party.  

  And I would also like to see all immigration stopped until the millions illegal currently here have left or are absorbed.  Once that happens, then and only then startup further immigration to this country.  I don't know if that would be workable but it is something that needs to also be discussed. 

  The main thing that needs to be done first is close our borders.  Then worry about the rest.
