The America of Our Fathers

I have written many times here on Townhall both in response to many of the columnists but also on my blog here. I have intensely followed the debate on immigration and debated it myself. I have written, faxed, emailed and called my senators and the White House. And it seems that even with all of that and the many of our country's citizens who are doing the same, fighting to keep our country and the American culture and traditions alive, it seems that our government still will not listen to the citizens of the USA.

  I quote from our own Declaration of Independence:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. --That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."

Is our government representing the will of the greatest number of the citizens of this country or that of big business and other special interests just its self interest in a naked power grab for the votes of the current illegals in this country?  

It is beginning to seem that those in our government, with a few rare exceptions, do not and will not listen to this country's people.

I am a conservative.  No longer do I consider myself a member of the republican party.  As far as I am concerned, the party has abandoned its conservative base, as has our president.  I can only state that I believe that we need to form a new political party.  One perhaps called the Conservative party.  To represent the interests of the conservatives of this country.  To represent the interests of those who believe in the dream that was and can be again, the country of our fathers. 

This is what we need to work toward.   I hope and pray that  we can succeed!
