Liberal hypocrisy! Thats the title. But where to start? When Bill Clinton did the dirty with the intern and seemingly just about anything female with two legs that got within arms length, democrats, liberals, feminists all screamed his private life should be private. It mattered not that some incidents were at the Oval Room desk (or under it, as the case may be) and were for sure distractions from his official duties at the time. To his supporters, it was a private matter. But let a gay Republican send dirty emails to Congressional pages and they scream for blood. Not to minimize his actions, by any means, what he did was reprehensible, even though, all evidence considered at this time, it was just emails and chat sessions. These were underage boys and it shouldn't have happened, he should have known better.
But liberals are hypocrites. They condemn the right for doing things that they accept, defend, even glorify when done by someone on the left. When someone on the left is condemned by the right, the usual response is that well, this person or that person on the right did it also. Which to the left makes it right. Since others on your side have done it, then why shouldn't WE do it. They ignore the fact that when someone on the right does what Foley did or as Bill Clinton did, we also condemn them. We don't defend their immorality or immoral actions. And that is what makes the left hypocrites. Those of us on the right accept that we are human and subject to human impulses. But as adults we also accept that impulses can be controlled. That we can and do make moral decisions on what is right or wrong. That we as moral creatures can control those base impulses and not act on them. That we can do what is ethical and right according to our code of ethics, our code of morals. That our code of morals, our ethics, are what we are as people. If we are immoral in our private life, than we are inevitably immoral in our public life. There is no separation of the two as far as morality is concerned.
In other threads on Townhall.com liberals have trotted out like trained puppies, their talking point lists of immoral conservatives. But what they still fail to understand about conservatives is that we do not defend those conservatives who have been immoral. We do not defend what they did. We do not defend accept it as ethical behavior for a conservative just because there have been some conservatives who have been unethical or immoral.
And that is the difference that liberals seem not to understand. And I think they refuse to see it because it would bring their whole house of cards crashing down.
What Foley did was wrong. It isn't going to keep this conservative from voting this fall though. And I do believe that it will not keep many other conservatives from voting either. Because we know what will happen if the liberals gain control of our government again. Because if they gain control we WILL lose the war on terror, we WILL lose the battle to regain and return to a more ethical and moral culture.
